Thread: LOUISIANA vs. KENTUCKY - SOFTBALL

I didn't realize Captain Obvious posted here.

Supp, I've seen plenty of encouragement in this thread along with some minor but fair criticism.

All natural results from a high stakes loss.

They'll bounce back just fine regardless of what's said here.

These young ladies should be congratulated for what they have accomplished, not beat up for what they haven't. If you can't write something nice, please don't comment at all! Let's support this team with positive thoughts and let them know that we are proud of them no matter what the outcome is.
Players should not read a FAN (short for fanatic) forum.
Players with thin skin should especially stay away.
I can assure you that athletes of this caliber will not be discouraged in any way by someone on this board typing a critique of their performance.
This is high stakes collegiate athletics; sometimes, not for the weak at heart.

I love it when people tell me what I can and can't say.

Mike's a bad example of a "hey, you can't do that... you're just an attorney" coach if there ever was one. You have no idea who could and couldn't trump a coach or two... on or off of this forum. Many a great mind could turn a lot of self-proclaimed stud monkeys into cheap shoes if they weren't tied up doing something else.

That isn't taking anything away from Mike Lotief... and I'd think he'd be the first to admit it.

Fact. I love this team and these girls

Fact Everyone that posts here loves this team and these girls

Fact This team played its worst game of the season last night, hands down.

Fact This is a sports message board where fans discuss the good and the bad of UL sports

FACT Parents and players should find something better to do with their time than read, said sports message board.

    Geaux Cajuns!!

I wanted to have something fun for my 1,000th post, but this will have to do. Some of you are truly pathetic. "High stakes sports" "thin skin" whatever you want to say. These are still 18-21 year old young ladies. I don't have a daughter of my own, but I would be out for blood if grown men who don't even know her were tearing her to shreds whether it be on a message board or anywhere else. People want to treat it all the same, but it's not. There is a difference between men and women. I was born and raised in the South and was taught to have respect for everyone, especially women. A simple she is struggling, Mike should think about sitting her is fine, but to go on for several pages about it is sad.

We are massively, overwhelmingly proud of our softball team. We love them. All of them. And that's irrespective of the outcomes at the WCWS.

    Geaux Cajun Softball!!!

Well that shows a complex on your part big cat. No one is tearing into her. No one has personally insulted her. No one has been vulgar or mean spirited.

We're disgusting strategy and sports. So because she's a girl, no one can criticize her performance? We do it to the guys all the time without consequence..

Maybe you should examine your thought process on this.

Thanks for your explanation, but I am already very familiar with the substitution rules (and strategy) in softball. I have no clue why you directed your comment at me? Your response to me has nothing to do with the question I asked. I am asking for anyone to please explanation this:

I was pointing out that your 20 years of BASEBALL had no bearing on what the strategy in softball is. The statement of putting it in play is what our baseball team does very often, btw. The baseball phrase is "putting pressure on the defense". It is the exact same concept.
