We don't keep score. We'll just end in a tie like the spelling bee....

    We'd better not underscore.

We'd better not be critical either.

Do you comprehend what I am asking? I am asking how "errors" makes sense in this sentence:

"Corbello puts the ball in play so that the other team's defense can make errors"

Has any coach ever said to a batter, "just get up there and try to make the other team make an error"? Errors very rarely happen and a batter surely can't make one happen. Have you ever heard, "we are just trying to get our opponent to make erorrs"? No, because an error is something you have no control over as a batter. Any hitting strategy (baseball or softball) that relies on defensive errors is flawed.

Doesn't every single batter that doesn't walk or strikeout "put the ball in play so the other team can make errors? I don't care if it's baseball or softball, the opponent making an error is not a strategy.

Got it. The poster worded it wrong. Should have said "putting pressure on the defense by putting it in play". I would still rather Felps at my disposal. Wouldn't want to have Fernandez at the plate when any ball to the outfield wins/ties a game.

I agree with keeping Gabby on the bench. It allows her to come in and bat for Fernandez or Voinche when the time is right, which has proven useful this post season at times.

Been proven helpful...at times. In the meantime you have a spot in your lineup hitting .034 her last 29 at bats.
