I don't think Corbello is a wasted spot one person in the lineup can't lose the game. Nobody hit in yesterday's game except for Lexi.Obviously Coach Mike sees something in Corbello that makes him keep putting her in the line up. Ya'll say that ya'll support the Cajuns through there ups and downs. Corbello is in a slump and ya'll aren't supporting her. That doesn't sound like loyal fans to me. Corbello puts the ball in play so that the other team's defense can make errors, Corbello just didn't get a break. I'm sure Corbello reads this kind of stuff or hears about it. I'm sure Corbello's confidence is already low but with comments like these probably demolished any ounce of confidence she had left. I don't care what anyone says, I still believe in her! At least she is trying!
Looks like we upset a family member.
I am sorry Sara may be a great leader and helps rally this team, but she has performed poorly at the plate for the last month of the season.
Gents, looking at the replays of her last few games, Sara goes after those rise balls. If she would lay off the rise ball, her number of walks would be higher as would her batting average due to more hittable pitches...
I played organized baseball for 20 years on several levels and have never once heard of a batter "putting the ball in play so the other team's defense can make errors". What does that even mean? Is trying to cause the defense to make errors an actual strategy?
Regarding Corbello, fans have been hard on her lately, but I trust Coach Lotief is making the correct lineup decisions.
Sara Corbello had a walk-off walk and a huge momentum-turning hit in the post-season.
Sara could've hit 2 homers yesterday, and we would've lost.
Some of you don't want to believe me. A strategy of softball is having a bat off the bench to pinch hit in any spot in the lineup. Players can re-enter so the pinch hitter is used a lot more often. We needed a traditional hitter when Fernandez came up the other day. Felps was able to pinch hit and Fernandez re-enter. The first hitter off the bench is more important than the 8-hole hitter in softball.
FYI - some of the girls that are on the team read this forum! What confidence boosters you guys are! Do you all really think that they are not trying? Yes, some are struggling but I can tell you that these girls are the hardest workers I know. Do you think they would have gotten to be one of the top 8 teams in the NATION if they weren't? These young ladies should be congratulated for what they have accomplished, not beat up for what they haven't. If you can't write something nice, please don't comment at all! Let's support this team with positive thoughts and let them know that we are proud of them no matter what the outcome is.
