Good breakdown. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that I think SDSU will win their game. The feel I'm getting from reading the scouting reports (particularly MSU's propensity to go cold, and the fact that Derby is a true blue Ace that can dominate) and the way the MSU fans makes me think they are overlooking SDSU to a degree. This has all the makings of how #2's get beat in the post-season. All you have to do to see it is look back to the cajun team last year when we played SHSU and put us behind the 8 ball from day 1. I think the Cajuns will be playing a NOLA Bowl Rematch on day 2.

I doubt the MSU baseball team is overlooking SDSU, but I'm with you on this one. It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Aztecs win this game.

That way, there could be plenty of tickets for MSU's game on Saturday. (Fingers crossed)

1 other thing to to consider, MSU wasn't exactly world beaters in game 1's of their series (typically when you throw your ace and you face the other teams Ace). MSU's Friday night (or first game equivelent if a game got pushed to a saturday) record was 8-7. SDSU wasn't infintely better, but they were 9-6. What can be proven by this? Well, it's the fact that MSU thrives when getting into their rotation where their depth gives them an edge, but doesn't always overcome their hitting woes that can plague them when a good pitcher takes the mound opposite them. I am standing by my thought that SDSU will pull off an upset in game 1.
