Thread: Chevron’s Luquette: Energy Industry Must Face ‘Hard Truths’

  1. Default Chevron’s Luquette: Energy Industry Must Face ‘Hard Truths’

The current downturn is “temporary and will not last,” according to Gary P. Luquette, president of Chevron North America Exploration and Production Co.

Luquette gave his assessment of the state of the energy industry and its challenges during a noon luncheon program held at the Houston Petroleum Club and jointly sponsored by IPAA and the Texas Independent Producers & Royalty Owners Association.

“We, as an industry, are going to have to face some hard truths,” says Luquette, a native of Abbeville, La., and a 1978 graduate of the University of Louisiana.

What the h.el.l is Luquette worrying about? I quit my job yesterday. No more house note, health care taken care of, no college education worries. Its a great time in history. I am gonna kick back, do nothin, and enjoy the ride

Me too Z. I think I'm going to get a couple of free knee replacements and a shoulder surgery and walk on to the UL football team. I think I still have some eligibility left. What a great country we live in. We all get a lot for doing nothing.

This is so COOL Re: Chevron’s Luquette: Energy Industry Must Face ‘Hard Truths’

I'll support him if pays for season tickets, a tailgating spot, all of my tailgating booze and food and a house in Laf, and oh yeah he has to pay my electricity that I'm not going to be able to afford after he kills the coal industry, my utilities, my insurance, my car note and fill up the car so I can drive to the game, my kids tuition for for the private school just can't tell it's a Catholic school and all of their college and graduate studies and any other things that I may have forgotten here.

But I will drop him in a second if he tries to make all of teams equal and give all of them trophies so that noone on any of the teams feel bad because its bowl bound time for our Cajuns.

No, No, gasoline must increase in price to the point you use a bicycle, or public transportation. Part of the master plan, along with high excise taxes on butter, beef, and sugar. Can't go raising the cost of your health care due to a lax and happy lifestyle.

so I'll run a few laps before I eat my boudin and booze at the tailgate, and I'll dip the boudin and beef in butter and put a sugar cube in my drink just to show my respect for the "gentleman"

18 months!! The old axiom, "the squeaking wheel (in this scenario its knee) gets the grease", does not apply. Bet if a "sawbones' " knee squeaks it ain't gonna take 18 months to grease.

We'll all be in "Dire Straits" if the lifting of the ban is rescended by the Blue Party.
