Lastly, and this is kind of out of pity--could ya'll see what you can do about sending USM an invite to join your conference, so that they can escape the eternal damnation of being stuck in Conference USA? I sorta feel sorry for them.
See I like this. Essentially, our schools are cut from the same mold:

Smallish town that has a devoted, blue-collar fanbase.
Tradition of past teams success with a down period and currently resurging.
    Proximity.
    In-state hate with another school.

I've always said State would be a good school to continuously play in sports.

I just found it ironic that we are always begging to get into CUSA cause the SB-C sucks so bad, and he mentioned something about us helping USM get into the Belch because he feels sorry for them in CUSA. What a strange twist

I'd love to see UL vs Miss St across all sports. Sounds great.

Sho' nuff! A mini-vacation. Good food, good folks. Anti-aristocratic just like us. Heck, I got a first cousin that grew up in Red Stick and ran track for UL-Red Stick. Moved to Atlanta way back when, because, in his words, "Luzana is dryin' up!" These days, he makes a lot of trips to Tiger Stadium. Gets there on Wednesday so he can get started on the sauce early. I always thought he'd make a real good Ol' Miss boy. After all these years, I still don't like him. Reminds of that Randy Newman song...
"We got yer good ol' boys from LSU,
Go in dumb, come out dumb, too,
Kickin' 'round Atlanta in they alligator shoes,
But they are keepin' the....well, ya'll know the rest.

    Let the games begin.

Those guys are crying and moaning about tickets they never intended to buy, anyway. Just trolls. You'll find that MSU fans who actually go to the games are knowledgeable and congenial. We know good baseball when we see it, and we know how to appreciate it, win or lose.
But having said that, I can only wish you good luck in those games not against the Dawgs! Hey, it's only natural--besides, what MSU Bulldog doesn't dream of winning this regional, root for the Rebels to win theirs, so we can invade Oxford and take their super regional from them in their own place? I'll say this--combining ULL's bats and MSU's pitching would make for an almost sure winner in Omaha! With any luck, I'll make it down there Saturday.
The way I see it, it will probably come down to 2 out of three between the Dawgs and the Cajuns, and if you guys get the better of us, I'll root for you all the way to Omaha (NOT those stinkin' Rebels!).
Don't worry Bald Dog. After UL takes this regional, we'll let Ole Miss come down here for a spanking too.

I wouldn't bet against the Huskies........guessing they were neck & neck with Rebs for one of the last regionals. They are carrying the PAC 12 chip on shoulder for the entire conference and knock off a home SEC team.

This is true. But I wonder about the 3500 mile plain ride then the eight hour bus trip from civilization to Oxford.

Not a bad plane ride and only an hour drive from the Memphis airport, I have made the trip a couple of times.

Why would anyone leave Memphis to travel to Oxford? I can see the other way around.

Don't get me wrong I like Memphis, but it is not what it use to be. I lived there for almost 2 years and felt comfortable going downtown, but I am hearing that is not a place you want to be these days, but I hear the same thing about New Orleans. Hell I think I am just getting old. The only place I want to be after 11 PM is in bed.

Hell, Oxford ain't what it used to be. I Heard they had a cow tipping ring that just got caught the other night right over by Famer John's watermelon patch. I even heard they were looking to build a Best Western out there in a couple of years if the town council approves the common sewage system & city water bill they were taking about passing.
