I've never eaten at Mazen Grill, I think most of it just protest because I loved the Catfish Shack as a kid.

meh, disregard those.
This place was the "Italian Food Market", aka Mauritzio's, for a long time. Then it took over La Pagua's old location. Traditional Sicilian food, delicious.
I like La Fondas, the mexican food isnt great, but a stuffed avocado, or the briggs steak, or the seared tuna steak is delicious, as are the polio de loco, and believe it or not, the chicken wings are the best in lafayette.
get off la fondas back
I don't know what happened to those folks reviewing the place, but as far as service, they practically fawned over us.
"A restaurant is only as good as its current chef."
And you can't go wrong with their spaghetti or lasagna. They will look at you funny if you don't have wine with your meal, but like I said, it's traditional Sicilian. Run by a little family there.... in fact, if you don't finish your plate, they will ask if anything was wrong with the food.
Being a person who doesn't drink with his meals, and was just full after most of my bowl, I got two funny looks... but they love it.
Yeah this is all great, then you top it off with a cupcake from Sophi P.
