Hands down my favorite home cooked meals in Lafayette. The plate lunches there are fantastic.

Hey DoubleDawg, can you tell we're a little passionate about food here?

btw when Ole Miss asks where to eat, we'll just refer them to the nice STATE fan's thread. That ought to make for a serious case of redass

Important question for an out of towner that may get sent here..... Do they still only accept cash as payment (or am I imagining that)?
That is correct, Olde Tyme only accepts cash or local checks. They do have an ATM there now so it isnt too big of a hassle

BWK, French press is directly between the fire station downtown and the downtown location of Agave. Turn off of Johnston to go to Don's downtown, pass it up and it will be right there on the left. It's a can't miss. Enjoy!

If you leave Lafayette hungry, it's your own fault.

For a somewhat eclectic menu go to the French Press across the street from Dons downtown.
    For sushi Tsunami downtown
For Mexican - LaPaqua on Johnston or Aztecas on Ambassador Caffery (Avoid LaFondas no matter what anybody says)
For Italian - I Monelli or Alesi's both on Johston street.
For smoked meats Johnstons Boucaniere (you will not be disappointed) If you really want to get down with cajun go to Poches north of Breaux Bridge.

For a somewhat more elegant setting Cafe Vermilionville on Pinhook or Jollies also on Pinhook.

For Tapas - Pamplona Tapas on Jefferson.
Helmet, you are a smart man
