The food at Walkons is marginal but the beer selection is first rate.
Also you must get boudin balls(not the kind you would get at 4 Corners) from Billys or Best Stop.

Follow the recommendations posted earlier and you will be fine. If there is one thing you can do in Lafayette is eat and drink and be merry. Well I guess thats three.
    Safe travels

Maybe he'll get somebody to read it to him. Obviously he was disappointed by the closing of Desperado's

After moving.man, I miss Canebrake. That turned into one of, if not my favorite beer.

Something that I think no one has mentioned. The BEST Cajun food will be a home cooked meal and the closest you will probably get to that is tailgating. The restaurants give it a good go but real Cajun food is simply made with simple ingredients all put together to create incredibly complex favors.

Be sure you pass by the tailgatersI am sure they will take care of you.

it makes Tiger Stadium look like Beverly Hills.

also to the OP, if you're bringing kids with you, the Kart Ranch in Youngsville is a good time. they have go-karts, batting cages, arcade games, a play area, etc.

Blue moon also has private rooms with their own private baths. It is an experience you will never forget and you dont have to drive after partying all night

Zeus on pinhook is great right next to blue dog cafe which is also very good and has a good bar. Travel lodge next door is older but run by a very nice family is reasonable and clean

Laura's II on University for a plate lunch is fire. Gotta get a Judice Inn burger on Johnston. And Olde Tyme on St. Mary is a must!!!
