Devin the Dude is awesome (sorry old timers, I know you won't agree) and at Hangout two weekends ago, Outkast performed International Playa's Anthem without Bun-B. I was quite surprised to say the least but the show was AWESOME.

    RIP PIMP C

I was hoping for Outkast at FPSF but Wu Tang should be great.

    Sorry I derailed this thread..

I stand corrected, they will be playing. They just don't say when.

Well, my first day was a rousing success, foodwise.
We wound up at Agave by the stadium. My buddy that made the trip and I both love Mexican food (who doesn't, right?) so it was an easy choice.
When I saw shrimp and crawfish chimichanga, that was an even easier choice. Those are three of my favorite things, and the combination did not disappoint. (My friend got a beef burrito, and said it was just average.)

For supper we wound up at Prejean's. I had my doubts, based on some negative comments in this thread and a so-so urbanspoon score but we tried it out anyway, partly because it's what my sister-in-law really wanted.
We had a FEAST. Between the Tout Que' Chose and our entrees we sampled frog legs, alligator, crawfish tails, shrimp, fried mushrooms, crawfish boudin balls, étouffée, crAwfish cornbread pie, crawfish bisque, duck/andouille gumbo, the pepper jack shrimp (awesome, thanks for that rec) and fried oysters along with maque choux and rice dressing. I enjoyed all of it except the maque choux and rice dressing.
My brother, a less adventurous diner, got the ribeye and twice-baked potato and his reviews were positive.

Now, my positive review aside, I can see how someone would not enjoy it. If we hadn't been sampling everything in the world and really had to focus on one or two items, our experience might have been different. I hardly touched my side items, and if we hadn't had the sampler I probably would have left hungry. All in all we spent $40/person after tip and for that, some people might have expected everything on the table to be 5-star perfect. I know people who I would recommend it to and others I'd advise to go elsewhere. It was definitely touristy and we four tourists enjoyed it.

Still have to hit up Olde Tyme and Fat Pat's, as well as find time to check out Deano's. I think we're going to hit up French Press either this morning or tomorrow for breakfast.

My dad and two 12-year old nephews are coming in to town today, so we'll probably have a big crowd at least once. Anywhere in particular we should avoid with a group?

Here's the thing about Prejean's. If you've never been there when they were the best in the world then it's hard to be disappointed. But when you know what they once were & realize there is no difference between them & thirty other places in & around town, then you'd figure why spend the extra hundred to eat there when the other's are every bit as good. And in several cases the service is better.

DoubleDawg...if you want a great poboy, hit up Old Tyme. If you want a great burger, Judice Inn is your place. If you want pizza, Pizza Village says hi, all my opinion of of course.

why do i consider these the best of show? Would i drive across 'town' for Pats or Deano's? No. Fortunately for me, i don't have to for Old Tyme, Judice Inn or Pizza Village now that they are on the southside, but i did when they weren't and still would for each of them! Enjoy your stay!

Let's get specific when talking about Pizza Village. Their Pizza is good. But their mudflato is bad to the bone. Since when did Judice open a second place?

Dupe or Landry Special. Never had a muffalato so i wouldn't know about that. Juice? i guess you meant Judice Inn?
