RPI's of regional opponents

UL - 5
Mississippi State - 30
SDSU - 36
Jackson State - 269

By basketball terms, we basically drew one of the easiest 16 seeds. And FWIW, judging by RPI, Mississippi State and SDSU are essentially 8+9 seeds. It seems like they actually treated us more like a #1 seed than a #2 seed. (again keep in context, this is using NCAA basketball bracket type breakdown of the regional, so no one is confused.)

By comparison, LSU got the top #2 in the country, a Bryant team with an RPI of 47, and an SLU team with an RPI just inside the top 75. LSU has a harder task in front of them than we do.

I'll take #269 Jackson St over SLU. That's for sure.

You guys can act all macho, but LSU's in the loser's bracket if they don't pitch Nola vs. SLU. That's going to be a problem for them.

I completely agree, For all intents and purposes, we'll cruise to the second round while no one else in the regional gets that luxury. Think about this, we're positioned where we only have 1 game to really worry about to make it to championship sunday.

If things go like I think they might, both the baseball and softball teams will be the higher seed (home team) in their opening game of the College World Series. Think about that.

It's possible all three top seeds don't get to Omaha. Our guys just have to take care of their business & they'll be fine.

Between softball and baseball, this could be one of the most epic weekends in UL history. Softball know their path and the baseball team has a roadmap now.

I don't care who. At this level, if you are good and you know you are good, you don't need to care who your next opponent is. Only respect them and give your best.

Just got to computer/tv. Loved SLU throwing first bomb on tiggerploppings. That won't be a cakewalk.
