I think the 3 TD's and 81 yards rushing had something to do with it as well.

Granted allot of it was based on the year and the career he has had but 18 points scored by one player is quite impressive. Couple that with the fact that the Troy/ULM game did not have a super offensive performance, Arkie State was pummelled by Alabama, FIU was short on any offensive performance and UNT/WKU game was an aferthought. I think only someone from the UNT/WKU game or Dez deserved the offensive POW. And I am sure that Dez would gladly give up his spot for this special weekend for the T-Train.

So while many people will say that he was not deserved of the POW, look at who his competition was, and 3 TD's win over the rest of the conference any day of the week.
