    Default History in Loreauville

I know most people could care less about this, but tonight we are retiring Derwin Antoine's number at Loreauville High. This is the first time a number has ever been retired in the long and tradition rich history of Loreauville Tiger football. If any of you have seen Derwin play in his prime, you got to see an amazing runner. If he would not have injured his knee, he would have been playing on Sunday's.

Just had to post this because I felt obligated to give Loreauville some props.

CJR Many moons ago when Antoine was running wild as a senior at LHS, I was scouting games for our high school coaching staff. For the 3 weeks prior to playing LHS in district we scouted them. What an amazing runner.

Congrats to Derwin Antoine and the proud LHS football tradition. The Cajuns have been fortunate to nab a few of those great players.

I had the honor of trying to tackle Mr. Antoine for 2 years in high school. It was like chasing a jackrabbit.

    Dude had freakish talent.

If I remember correctly, his knee injury occurred at the end of a blowout win over Berwick. What a waste.

Yea, I saw that as well. Also noticed former UL kicker Richie Cunningham on that list from when he played with Dallas.

I was wrong. It was the second number retired. I forgot about Butsy Wallet. Some of the stats about Derwin:

    31 straight 100 yard games
    Over 5000 total yards
At the time of his injury, 3rd on the all time yards list
and he only played 3 full years

Went on to play at Tulane, CFL, and European league
