If Virginia wins ... no doubt in my mind that they are seeded ahead of Florida State.

If Florida State wins, it is possible that the Seminoles get the higher seed ... but I would lean towards Virginia. They would have the same overall conference record (including tournament games) and head-to-head would be tied at 2-2. But Virginia probably ends with the higher RPI, has a higher NC RPI (3 vs. 14), and a considerably better record vs. the RPI Top 25 (4-3 vs. 3-6) and RPI Top 50 (14-7 vs. 13-13) at present. I think Florida State probably needed to win the ACC Tournament.

I think the same is true for TCU. Thus, tomorrow's Big XII Tournament Championship is probably for a national seed.

Sorry, but Chad Washington is clueless. When it was announced Georgia got the #4 National seed in softball, Chad Washington said the Cajuns would probably be sent there for a Super. (Meaning: 13 seed).

He has no idea what he's talking about.

Oklahoma State just knocked off Texas 6-4. The Horns had the tying run at 2nd base in the B9th.

This ensures that the Cajuns will finish ahead of Texas in the RPI.

It will be Oklahoma State and TCU for the Big XII Tournament title ... likely for a national seed.

And Florida State makes the dramatic comeback in the 8th to take a 6-4 victory over Virginia.

Both Virginia and Florida State will be national seeds.

There is a good chance that Florida will be the #1 National Seed.

Unfortunately, Southern Miss is about to lose ... and Rice will face UTSA in the CUSA Championship game.

Meanwhile, there is real risk that #24 Alabama .5671 may be surpassed by #25 Maryland .5665 (vs. Georgia Tech tomorrow), #26 UNLV .5664 (must be beaten twice by San Diego State), and .5654 Nebraska (vs. Indiana tomorrow). #23 Indiana State, also .5671, is just in front of Alabama. The Sycamores are done until the NCAA Tournament.

AND... I think... If San Diego State holds on to defeat UNLV - at # 26 currently just behind Alabama - (up 8-1 BOT 8) (even if UNLV comes back and wins the if necessary game tomorrow), Alabama (currently #24 Warren Nolan RPI) should be able to stay in the Top 25...

IF Nebraska (#27) falls tomorrow to Indiana

    OR

Maryland (#25) falls to Georgia Tech...

We need one of those... I would think Indiana over Nebraska would be the most likely...

Maybe Brian can confirm...? I could be missing something...

So what does all this mean? We're going to get screwed, aren't we?

With a win tomorrow, UNLV could pass Alabama. It will be close. San Diego State makes a nice OWP contribution to UNLV's RPI.

Thus, we want two of the above ... or Alabama to surpass Indiana State.
