Florida [should be] getting a national seed, so having said that you gotta cheer against SC

Edit: I have no idea what I'm doing

Florida's going to be a national seed regardless, and I believe SC is in the conversation for (our) national seed.

So I think this one's easy. Florida.

    Brian? LOL

I understand, but if we were to pass Florida in RPI, wouldn't that make it even harder for the "powers that be" to shaft us? I don't want them to have any reason to be able to screw us.

Which ones aren't locks? Who's in the running that I missed?
Miami and Ole Miss are not locks. Indiana is not a lock. They could lose their next two and plummet in RPI. If Virginia lost their next two (0-3 in ACC Tournament) … they would take a hard RPI hit … and they would be losers of their last four games and five of their last six.

I think Florida and Oregon State are locks.

Other than that, I would say Virginia and Florida State are likely. Indiana probably gets it done as well.

Rice is certainly in the running for a national seed. Their record vs. RPI Top 50 will hurt them. BUt they are likely to be conference tournament champs to go along with conference regular season champs.

Good stuff. Thanks. Miami's not a lock after winning the ACC? I have a lot to learn. LOL

While it is certainly not impossible for the Cajuns to pass Florida in the RPI, it is not likely. Florida will not be damaged much by a loss to South Carolina, especially with their .6491 winning percentage (not WP) … which is already low for a Top 5 RPI. The Cajuns might not have enough schedule to make up the difference (even going undefeated).

I would like to put some distance between the Cajuns and South Carolina.

No. I had written previously that winning the ACC put them deeply in the discussion … while others did not even have them in the conversation at the time. In fact, I warned of this several weeks ago when Miami had an RPI of about 20. But they are certainly not a lock. Especially if they perform poorly in the ACC Tournament.

Most of the national seeds are very fluid right now … in large part to how tightly packed there are.

There is a difference between Lock and Likely.
