Hell yes. Somebody gets it."In script lettering across the front of the softball team's jersey are the words "Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns." The first apostrophe may be a subtle dig at the SEC school up the road in Baton Rouge, not to mention part of the school's ongoing push to be recognized as the University of Louisiana.
We are not losing, ladies and gents. We're showing the nation how ridiculously petty the purple and puke to the east has become.
Girlfriend surprised me with tickets. She's not even an alum of UL (rather she went to Nicholls), she emailed and sent in that form for tickets on Monday morning and we were able to get a pair of GA Outfield tickets. Matt had emailed her back just after lunch on Monday.
Since we're driving in from Houston on Friday, she spoke to Matt today and he said we can pick up our tickets at Lamson at/after 6:30 PM.
Sounds like a Friday night at Chili's or somewhere I can view game.....
I wasn't able to attend the regional last weekend due to family commitments. Watching on ESPN3 with a Cajun batter in the box, the announcer is talking about how Coach Lotief teaches hitting with the split grip. Funny, the batter isn't hitting with a split grip as she's talking. Next batter, no split grip. I think this goes back to the last WCWS trip with Vanessa Soto. From my understanding, it's a technique used with certain players who are too right hand heavy in their swings. I think Mike is much more about hip rotation than whether your hands are split. Sorry about the ramble, but it shows that announcers will go for the simplest and easiest to remember catch phrases when covering a team rather than watching film or (heaven forbid) actually speaking with the coach intellectually. My worry has always been that this gets used against us in recruiting, as in "You know Lotief will make you change your swing and grip if you go there".
Looked at Stubhub and a couple of the super-regionals have tickets posted. $30-40 is asking price. Curious, what were the UL vs AZ face value tickets prices?
I'm guessing UL should see a nice revenue bump overall given we haven't been the host team in any S-R. Seems logical the largest share goes with the host team. Extra bonus on the expense side.....no travel expenses either. Hoping a nice Revenue bump for hosting regional happened too.
All langiappe dollars as we didn't host either last year.
