For only the third time this football season, UL's Tyrell Fenroy gets to play in front of a hometown crowd this weekend at Cajun Field.

The senior hopes to help the Cajuns (4-3 overall, 3-0 Sun Belt) beat league foe Florida International (3-4, 2-1) in Saturday's 4 p.m. homecoming game, but he wouldn't mind making a little history in the process. Fenroy needs 30 rushing yards to become only the seventh player in NCAA history with four 1,000-yard seasons.

Other names on that exclusive list include Heisman Trophy winners Tony Dorsett and Ron Dayne and former first-round pick Cedric Benson. Ex-New Mexico back DonTrell Moore was the last player to accomplish the feat in 2005.

"I think it would be big to do it at home, especially for our fans," Fenroy said. "This is the 1,000th game in our (program's) history. It's supposed to be a sellout stadium.

"That would be great."
