Can't speak for Zeeb, but for myself, YES, I was a fan of another NFL team because of "former players". I pulled for the Raiders when Randy McClanahan played for them. I pulled for the Skins and the Eagles when Brian Mitchell Played for them. I pulled for the Patriots and Seahawks when Abbeville native Brandon Mitchell played for them. I was a Ravens, then Colts fan because of Brandon Stokley, and I am a Panthers fan because of Jake.

I pull for the Saints because they are local, but I'm luke-warm about them in the best of years.

All that being said, I am at best a casual fan of pro football. HS and College is where it's at.

One of my co-workers is a Vol fan who pulls for the Colts, and sometimes for the Titans. He isn't a Colts fan thru and thru. He is a Payton fan. If Payton somehow ended up in Miami... he would be a Dolphin fan. What is BS's point... that we love our Cajun players in the professional ranks? I know LSU fans who love wherever Shaq is... for Shaq. They are not Hornets fans. Again, what is the beef?

When the Bears play the Colts Sunday, I will pull for the Bears because of Charles Tillman; but I like Peyton Manning, and Brandon Stokley [who is on IR] plays for the Colts, so I won't slash my wrists if the Colts win. By the same token, last week I pulled for the Bears over the Saints, but if the Saints had won, I would have been glad to see them advance. FWIW, I pulled for New England over the Colts because Antoine Spann was playing and Stokley wasn't.

Will all of these "newly found" panther fans still be panther fans when jake delhomme is no longer playing for the panthers? Always wondered about that.

What if jake delhomme ended up back with the Saints down the road, would everyone of these "newly found" panther fans switch back to being a Saints fan? Always wondered about that.

The Saints are in the state of Louisiana and no matter who or what plays against them, I WILL pull for the Saints. It's amazing that when things don't go or people don't think along the same lines as certain folks, everything else is just no good and they turn on their own state!

Of course we would pull for the Saints if Jake or any other Cajun were starting quarterback. We back teams with Cajun Players on them.
