it did take an additional 2-3.5 minutes off the clock... and sealed the win with a chip shot field goal.Originally Posted by Sid
Ditto, dat!! Jake needs a little more support on the Defensive side of the ball and maybe another lineman or 2, and a reciever.Originally Posted by cajunproud
Jakes the man still, supporting cast is all he needs.

There are only two or three quarterbacks in the league at any given time who can put a team on their backs and win consistantly. The Panthers, IMO, have done a poor job in getting and keeping the O line healthy with quality players. JakeOriginally Posted by DaddyCajun

has one receiver to throw to since his Super Bowl year and the 2005 season where he made the Pro Bowl. The next season Smith was out, then they let Muhamed leave this season and got Johnson a step down. The Panters are suffering from bad personel decions

I wonder what Jake could do at Chicago?Originally Posted by Cajun Express
Man, I followed the panthers close this season, and I really dont think WR is a position they need help in. Steve Smith is the man, Keyshawn was alright at times this year, and Drew Carter is growing up to be a great #2 in the near future. The defense needs to get some younger players who arent always injured, but their biggest problem is the running game. Facts are facts, and the fact remains that the panthers had a lead in the 4th quarter in like 12 games this year, meaning they couldn't find a way to seal the deal. That comes back to the running game, An elaborate game of keep away. Deangelo Williams will be good, but he was to young to count on every day for 30 carries. Deshaun Foster is over-rated big time, and after that, the talent pool drops almost to nothin. Expect them to go after an O-lineman in the draft, and a decent RB in Free Agency.Originally Posted by DaddyCajun

I wish Jake the best and I always pull for the Panthers if it doesn't hurt the Saints. He is a great winner pure and simple. I have only one request of him. I wish he would pimp UL like Bradshaw does Tech. Perhaps he will when his playing days are over. The Saints have done some stupid things over the years but letting Jake go for Brooks might one of the dumbiest.Originally Posted by Zeebart21
I think Jake will represent when the timing and opportunities are right. Bradshaw hasn't been an active player for a long time and is now just a celebrity broadcaster. I don't think Bradshaw represented Tech very well during the Sugar Bowl. He said that the only reason he didn't go to LSU was because he didn't have the ACT score. That doesn't sound like an endorsement for Tech.Originally Posted by RCAJUN90
RC, it wasnt so much the fact that they let him go. They didnt even give him a chance. Remember, was it 2001/2002 that the Saints only needed 1 win out of the last 3 games to make the playoffs. Hass-ole decides to play a 75% Brooks instead of a 100% Jake? That clinched it.Originally Posted by RCAJUN90
Seriously, now that Carolina is vacationing, the Saints doing well are certainly OK with me.
