The bad news is he has to beat out Joe Montana(perhaps the greatest quarterback ever according to Kevin Foote:-)in order to advance in the voting.

  3. Default LHC Group names retired NFL quarterback Jake Delhomme to Founder's Advisory Board

LAFAYETTE, LA - LHC Group has named retired NFL Pro Bowl quarterback and former University of Southwestern Louisiana standout Jake Delhomme to the company's Founder's Advisory Board.

The LHC Group Founder's Advisory Board was established to promote and maintain a positive company culture based on trust, empowerment and teamwork. Lafayette-based LHC Group is a national provider of post-acute care services.

The board works to communicate the company's mission to build and inspire organizational loyalty and passion, share the values that guide business practices and decisions, and encourage individual ownership of both the company's bottom-line results and its cultural foundation.

"Jake Delhomme shares LHC Group's pride in our Louisiana roots," said Keith Myers, LHC Group chairman and CEO. "Jake built his career the same way we built this company – through hard work and perseverance.

"As LHC Group continues to grow, our success will depend on the strength of our company culture. With his proven work ethic and dedication, Jake is a valuable addition to the Founder's Advisory Board and its mission to promote and maintain a strong culture."

Delhomme quarterbacked the University of Southwestern Louisiana Ragin Cajuns from 1993 to 1997. He was signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent after the 1997 NFL Draft, where he played in his first career NFL game in 1999. Delhomme signed with the Carolina Panthers in 2003 and was the team's starting quarterback from 2003 to 2009. In his first season with the Panthers he led the team to an appearance in Super Bowl XXXVIII and would go on to set many team records.

Delhomme currently resides in Breaux Bridge, La., with his wife and two daughters, where he raises and trains thoroughbred race horses and serves as the president of the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association. He also holds a seat on the board of directors for Mid South Bank.

"I know from experience that success requires teamwork, and that teamwork requires a positive, nurturing culture across the entire organization," said Delhomme. "With the Founder's Advisory Board, LHC Group has demonstrated a proactive attitude in creating and maintaining this kind of culture. I am excited about the opportunity to join LHC Group in their mission to bring quality home health care to patients across the nation."

I'll take Jake's slightly less strong hand any day. I read he was voted the best Super Bowl performance by a quarterback on a losing team.

  5. Default 'It hasn't changed my life'

Jake Delhomme is still the same person he's always been.

That might not seem that hard, but after all he's achieved, the Breaux Bridge native still remains a product of his south Louisiana roots.

When Delhomme helped rescue Lafayette's Teurlings Catholic ...

Jake was better than Blake as well.

I blame Mike McCarthy, who at the time was a "my guy" coach.
