I'm telling you, don't be surprised if he ends up back in Carolina.

Delhomme’s days with Browns “are numbered?” Dear Marty Hurney, (slow chant) bring him back..bring him back..bring him back...BRING HIM BACK!
that is a tweet from Center Ryan Kalil for the panthers just over a month ago, from what I've heard, there are more players on his side too. I'd say theres a 50/50 chance that Jake ends up at Carolina, the other 50% change is he ends up in Denver.

  3. Default Stokley to Redskins; Delhomme Done in Cleveland

Jake Delhomme and Brandon Stokley, once a feared pass-catch combination for UL's Ragin' Cajuns in 1995 and 1996, face different fates as the NFL resumes player deals in the wake of labor peace announced on Monday. Stokley has agreed to terms on a one-year ...

Brandon called that move off. The Skins signed one too many old WR's for his taste. Looking at other options now.

It seems like Jake's options are Denver with Fox and Carolina behind Newton with Clausen staying as well. I think Denver is more likely even with Kalil petitioning to get him in Carolina again. Not much else out there.

Stokley has decided not to sign with the Redskins.

Jake may become a sideline tutor but his playing days are over. The Tommy John's surgers slowed his pass speed down and he is an interception waiting to happen.

I like the quote that said he should go back to BB and handle his horses. He played in the most exciting Superbowl ever played in my humble opinion. Had a nice career with Carolina after the previous Saints regime was to stupid not to start him.

Go home and enjoy your life Jake. You deserve it. Besides living in BB, Cafe Des Amis is always nearby.

First off, I don't think it would be out of the question to see Jake in NOLA. Someone mentioned salary, well Jake I think now understands that at this point, his chances of starting and leading a franshise are about over. However, he's a heady veteran with poise and he could be a great backup for a few years. I think with that in mind, he knows he won't make crazy money to be a backup so I think that is a possibility. Also, for those who know Jake at all, it won't be that easy for him to just turn away from football and come back home. That's not Jake. While he has other interests outside of football, he's breathed it his life and I would be surprised to just see him walk away. I would bet that Jake stays in football in one capacity or another for another 3-5 years. JMO

I agree zephyr. I never understood how a pro athlete could become to proud to make $300+ thou a year.

I know being a backup is a hard transition, but you never know when you will get the chance to shine.

Besides, Jake whole shining career was built on coming off the bench and making a go of it.

    Geaux-Jake
