Yes he is. Wasn't thinking about the Colts. Heck you know about the Mannings but I think you would have to look really hard to find NOLA people pulling for the Colts.

I was a Saints fan, and it was already frustrating enough watching the Saints as they wasted entire drafts on one player and wasting money on players like Danny Weurffel, Heath Shuler, and Aaron Brooks, but when Brooks got injured and they refused to play a healthy Jake Delhomme, it drove me up a wall. So, when Jake went to the panthers, I started paying attention to them, and I loved the style they played, Aggressive Defense, and a solid rushing and Offensive line play (the Rushing and Oline play that is)...remind you of a college that I think we both like? Anyway, Still, I would have said I was sitting on the fence, then 2005 happened, and Fat Tom Benson became one of the worst and most money hungry human beings I've ever seen. He held an entire fan base hostage and threatened to abandon the city that literally gave him every single thing that he ever had...but then again, should anyone have ever truly trusted a used car salesman. After that, it made my decision to be a panther fan, and stay one a much easier one. My only hope is that Jake retires as a Panther, I do agree though, I don't know if theres much left in his tank, I'm not sure that Matt Moore is the answer either, but he did look good at the end of the season. It'll be an interesting offseason in Panther land though, rumor is that we may trade Deangelo Williams to try to get back in the first round, and let Stewart be the lone workhorse going forward.

I think most Saints fans would agree with you. Jake drove the LSU fans crazy especially when he drove the Panthers to the Super Bowl. Most Saints fans even in NOLA were pulling for the Panthers. Anyways when all is said and done they are the only Pro team in the State. You don't have to pull for them but they do make an obvious choice.

I started pulling for Carolina once Jake entered the game in Week 1 of 2003. Since then, I've pulled for Carolina, but ONLY when Jake is starting.

Meaning, when Jake was knocked out for the season in '07, I didn't care what the Panthers did and yes, started pulling for the Saints.

My wife and I attended the Saints game vs. Carolina this past November, and I wore my USL Delhomme jersey and a Saints hat, pulling for both offenses and wanting just the last team with the ball to win.

So what will I do when Jake is no longer playing? Continue wearing the jersey to UL games (the point of getting the USL one and not Panthers one), and pull for the Saints to win the Super Bowl.

How would you like VICK as your QB?

If he would replace Delhomme would that be the end of your support for that franchise?

There are very few true Carolina Panther fans in Louisiana while there are still plenty of Jake Delhomme fans. Those people will pull for whatever team he plays for. Personally, I doubt he will play for Carolina in 2010 as I expect he will be released and become a free agent. Du to the uncapped year, Carolina can cut him and not have it effect the salary cap as there won't be one in 2010.

Doesn't Carolina owe Jake lots of money. Didn't he just sign a 5 year contract last year? What are the details on his contract?

Interesting read on Delhomme's contract with Carolina.

Long story short, the Panthers will be paying Jake a lot of money. But it's an interesting read. His agent did a damn good job of negotiating.
