_ I'm happy for him because he will get to stay with a team that he wants to play for. I'm proud of them for not throwing him out the door when they had the chance to do so. Delhomme is a good guy and deserves the respect that he is getting from Carolina. I wish he was a Saint all these years, but seeing him have a good career anywhere is a victory for him, UL, and Cajun Country in general. _

That Tommy John surgery has definitely messed with his throwing ability as he just hasn't been nearly as accurate on the deep pass. Panthers fans are so enthralled by Matt Moore that they don't realize that he isn't the long term solution at that position. The panthers really should use their first pick (2nd rounder) to draft a promising QB, bring him in and let Jake start next season while the new guy gets acclimated to the NFL. Also, this would give Jake a chance to impart any knowledge of the offense that Carolina runs to the new guy to help bring him along. Its a win/win situation, if Jake and the team does well, they'll get a shot at the playoffs and such, and if he has another bad season, the future of the team at QB can be put in somewhere around mid-season (kind of like what happened with Kerry Collins). I'm hoping for the best. _

I agree. Moore has been in Carolina for several years at least and he would have gotten his chance a while back had he been the guy they were looking for. I think he's a good backup but to be able to prepare every week and produce is something that he's maybe not either good enough or ready to do.

The Panthers D is getting old, so they will go with whomever gives them the best chance to win next year, and that is Moore as of today.

The point was and is that Moore has been there for years and has never been able to work his way up the depth chart past 3rd string, much less the backup. He's played well recently but I'd imagine that there are reasons as to why he's been buried on the depth chart for these years. Maybe he has put things together but I would wait a while longer before annointing him the starter of the future. I think the point of past posts was just to draft a young QB for which they could groom into the position with one of the veteran QB's. Giving Jake another 8 months might do his arm wonders and allow him to return to his old form. At least they will give him mini camps and training camp to prove himself and earn the starting spot.

He's on IR with a F# up finger. He also had tendonitis this year.. injuries have Moore playing....nothing less, nothing Moore.... BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I agree. Jake doesn't have any zip on the ball anymore and his accuracy kills him. He also doesn't protect the ball very well and fumbles a lot. He's had a good career and the Super Bowl he played in has been touted as the best Super Bowl game ever. Not bad.
