The Mistakes I was talking about were those few over throws, but other wise I think Jake did great, I think they might have won if the defense would have picked up a little.

I was there. You know why Delhomme was embarrassed? Because USL didn't prepare him for the real world. I can promise you this no LSU player is embarassed by attention. You know why? LSU has them ready for the real world.
LSU BOB wins "Dipdunk of the Week"!
Congrats!
Will you have the interview "saved" for those of us that are out of town?
Did anybody read it? If not you should pick up a copy of Sports illustrated, Jakes got a little caption on the cover.
It's a nice 5 page article so y'all should give it a look.

Jake Delhomme Sports Illustrated story
Jake Delhomme has thrown the football just once in the past month, and it wasn't exactly in a full-scale practice.
In a Mardi Gras parade recently in Lafayette, La., Delhomme served as parade marshal and fired miniature footballs at the crowd for 21/2 hours.
That's all.
"I'm getting away from it," said Delhomme in a phone interview with the Observer from his home in Breaux Bridge, La. "I haven't gone totally fat, but I am really trying to lay off football for a while."
Delhomme has instead filled his days with family time and horse time, trying to put some distance between himself and the most painful loss of his career. But the Cajun quarterback can't help but follow the Panthers' news from 835 miles away. His voice crackles with excitement when he talks about how happy he is that Carolina re-signed wide receiver Steve Smith on Monday.
"I talked to Steve on the phone Sunday and he said it was about to get done," Delhomme said. "I hung up and told my wife, `I'm going to sleep well tonight.' "
Actually, Delhomme is sleeping well every night.
It's not his nature to obsess about things he can't control. So he's not overwrought about the Panthers' wrenching 32-29 loss in the Super Bowl to New England. He doesn't think about the fact he would have surely been the game's MVP if Carolina had won -- Delhomme threw for 211 yards in the fourth quarter alone, leading the Panthers to touchdowns on their final three possessions.

Does anyone here have subscriber access to Sports Illustrated's web site? SI did an article on Delhomme, but apparently the issue is already off the stands and I missed it. Can anyone post it here, or e-mail me the story? My address is stlpilot@earthlink.net.
Muchas gracias,
Bill
It wasn't anything special. I wouldn't go to great lengths to read it.
i can see how "we" might say this in that "we" all know the jake story so well being from the area and have "lived" jake's journey with him..Originally posted by CajunFanatic91

with that being said, for those outside the "jake circle" it is a good "eye opener" to him and his area of the world..
In St. Louis, you really have to look hard to find anything other than Rams news. Now I know how hard it was for non-Saints fans to get news in New Orleans.
That being said, if anyone can e-mail the article to stlpilot@earthlink.net, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.
Hey AirBill, I have been to two bookstores and all I can find is the swimsuit issue.
If anyone has the one with Jake I will transcribe it for you.
Geaux Cajuns
