    GEAUX UL!

Do you want AROD the best statistical player on your team except when it counts in the playoffs, or do you want a guy like Josh Beckett average during the season but lights out when its nut cutting time? _
I was talking more of Brees. So you are saying Drew does not win or is not a winner? How many times has Jake been in the playoffs. I think Jake is great but I think Drew is a better

I'm just capable of taking an unbiased look at things when it comes to who is better than who. Just like Benson doesn't give a rats as.s about me, i don't give a rats as.s about him, what I do give a rats as.s about is Drew Brees who works his as.s off to win games, Duece McAllister, Reggie Bush, Mike McKenzie, and Jonathan Vilma to name a few.
I'm a loyal fan. If you think thats wrong, then that's your opinion. I didn't give up, pick another team, or turn my back on my team when the going got tough. No sir, there is nothing wrong with me. _

Jake would have been the right choice then. I think Jake takes the Saints deep that year! We only needed one win. Jake knows how to win. He'll have a bad game here and there, but he's a solid player.

As of today I would choose Brees. He is the real deal. It's not on the shoulders of Brees for two of our loses this year. It was some idiot kicker (sorry for taking your phrase Manning).

Brees fits great in our style and I am glad he's our quarterback today. Jake should have been our quaterback then. I am still a Jake fan. He's no pushover. He's also one of the most humble football players off the feild. He's a class act. I don't see why people don't have room in their hearts for someone who doesn't play on the Saints. He's a Cajun too!

One last stat... Jake is 6-2 against the Saints!

GEAUX JAKE! GEAUX SAINTS! GEAUX CAJUNS! _
    cool stat!

Does turning our back on Jake mean rooting for him every week except when he plays the Saints. Wanting him to do well and supporting him except when he plays the team that we have watched our whole lives.

If so, what happens when the Panthers play the Broncos or the Bears play the Steelers. Does the world implode because two Cajuns are playing and they both left blood, sweat and tears on Cajun Field.

Jerry Baldwin left blood sweat and tears on Cajun Field. Do we leave the University because he left.

I don't want to generalize, but I, and others may as well, find it condescending when you say there is something wrong with me because I support a team that doesn't give a Rat's ass about me. But the players may, they work hard and give their all. I don't cheer for the Saints' front office bottom line. I cheer for the collection of players and coaches who where the Saints uniform on Sundays. And to some degree, I think each of them does want to please the fans, and has their interests at heart. If they didn't many of them would not donate their time and energy back to the community.

I love Jake. I want him to do well. I will always remember what he did for the program. But if our loyalty is to be to the guys who left this program and are in the pros, then we could have no favorite team, because then we would be at some point pulling against guys who played for this university.

There is no way to distinguish between the sacrifices that Charles Tillman, Jake, Stokely, Ike, CC or even Brian Mitchel made to the program. We're proud of al lof them and want them to do well. _
Slapmaster, I love em all! When they play each other, I struggle.

Saints screw themselves out of the playoffs in 2002(not using JD)...fool me once

Saints ready to bolt for San Antonio immediately after Katrina(the water hadn't even receded)Screw a city in need and it's fans. Fool me twice.

    Not happenin a third time.

    Go Jake

    Go Panthers.

Outstanding post! I like it. This thread is why I like and why I hate fan boards. It is just personal opinions and feelings (I like), and when someone disagrees, it starts to get personal (I hate). I'm a bit perplexed as to why Jake seems to get 95% of the love, while Peanut, Stokes, et al get much, much less of it. Don't get me wrong, I love Jake. I've spoken to him on several occasions and he is a great guy. Humble and down to earth. Very approachable. But the other guys are pretty much the same way, too. I really like Peanut, but I follow all the former Cajuns (just like the Marines, there are NO ex-Cajuns! Well, maybe one. )

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the article...

Is it just me, or do the Brees supporters sound exactly like the Brooks supporters on this Forum [A Ragin' Cajun forum] sounded 5 years ago?

To me Drew Brees = Jim Everret, great skills, reads defenses well, puts up great fantasy numbers, doesn't need a running game or a defense, throws a deep ball well.

But like Delhomme, Brees can lay an egg of a game... his bad play, his not the team, led the Saints to an 0-4 start last season, and kept a better-than-average football team out of the playoffs.

Right now, the Saints are last place in the NFC South.

The NFL, to me, is a side show, like professional softball... the only way I care is if a Cajun is playing...

There's a secret about the Saints... I'll give you a hint, the new album by Motley Crue....
