I sure hope Jake is 100% prior to pre season and I also hope his supporting staff are there for him also. Hope their line will protect him and have the running game and receivers they once had.

CHARLOTTE -- Jake Delhomme, quarterback of the Carolina Panthers, sat down in the News 14 Carolina studio Thursday night to talk about a tough 2007 season -- which he missed a chunk of after injuring his elbow in a game against Atlanta -- and to look forward to the coming draft and 2008 season.
Q: How’s is your elbow?
A: “My elbow is doing great. Yes, I plan on being ready for training camp, hopefully maybe a little sooner. I’m not quiet sure if they’ll let partake in any of the mini camp that we have coming up next weekend, but hopefully maybe OTAs or summer school I’ll be able to participate in a few of those, but we’re on schedule, things are going well.”
Q: Walk us through what you were thinking after the injury.
Good luck to Jake and the Panthers! Sounds like Jake is well on his way in his recovery and hopefully the year off will get him a little more speed, quickness and zip on the old ball.

Jake Delhomme threw a real football Friday morning at the Carolina Panthers' mini-camp. He threw it 34 times, actually. He's on a strict pitch count, so he knew the number exactly.
The Panthers quarterback is somewhere in the middle of the most-watched arm rehabilitation in the Carolinas -- a couple of months past throwing a Nerf ball and a couple of months away from throwing a 15-yard curl with two defenders hanging on him.
"It's nice to put on a helmet," Delhomme said. "Coming out here with a baseball hat gets pretty old."
It was weird to see the Panthers without Delhomme in 2007. It was like walking to the edge of your kitchen and suddenly realizing the floor was gone. You don't think about the floor much. But when it no longer exists, the rest of the room is unusable.
Delhomme played in only three games last season, but was off to the best start of his career. He threw eight touchdown passes in those three games -- a figure that ended up leading the Panthers in 2007. When Delhomme got hurt, the season disintegrated into a sloppy game of musical chairs.

I KNOW this guy can throw
I can't wait for football season!!
Nice pics, Benedict. Send em to K Foote.
But I still think these Ragin' Cajuns can beat those Aggies!
The two teams played at the begining of March... in College Station.
Brittany Cuevas pitched a gem in a 1-0 loss, and Ashley Brignac struck out 11 in a 3-2 extra inning Cajun victory the next day.
Call me crazy, but the Cajuns seemed to have more fans in OKC than did the Gators...
I think A&M did us a favor in defeating VT... but I'm sure they think that we did them a favor by knocking off the top team in the nation.
GEAUX CAJUNS!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The five Carolina Panthers quarterbacks stood at midfield Monday in their red jerseys, warning overzealous defensive players they were off limits.
Nobody dared to touch them during the optional workout, part of a firm football tradition to protect the guys playing the glamour position.
Only these red-clad guys weren't deemed that valuable on draft weekend. Carolina is the only NFL team without a QB taken in the draft.
"I must admit we're proud of the fact that there are no signing-bonus babies in our quarterback room," Jake Delhomme said.
Delhomme, Matt Moore, Brett Basanez, Lester Ricard and rookie Taylor Tharp have been cut a total of five times and have a combined four stints on NFL practice squads and one tour in the now-defunct NFL Europa.
Delhomme takes pride in being the leader of this bunch. After leaving Louisiana-Lafayette, he was waived three times by the New Orleans Saints and played in Europe. When finally given a shot, Delhomme led the Panthers to the Super Bowl in the 2003 season, his first year as a starter. He is working his way back from ligament-replacement surgery.
