Work's good, and certainly blow and go right now. Thanks.

My wife and I didn't get a chance to attend last Saturday's game, but we'll be there the next two for McNeese and Troy.

Can't wait to see all the red & white!!

  3. Default Jake hurt elbow, will have season ending surgery

Jake took himself out of the Panther game today, his throwing elbow hurt.

Seems like it was a non contact injury, I hope it isn't toserious.

  5. UL Football Re: Jake hurt his elbow

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Carolina Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme was happy on Monday after an MRI determined he won't need surgery on a strained right elbow. But Delhomme was unsure if he or backup David Carr will start on Sunday against Tampa Bay.

"I'll be getting a ton of treatment on it and we'll go from there," Delhomme said. "I've never had anything like this before, so how long it's going to last, I don't know. I usually do OK with treatment and I think my body heals pretty fast."

  6. UL Football Jake Delhomme May Need Elbow Surgery

The injury suffered to the throwing elbow of Panthers quarterback Jake Delhomme may be more serious than previously thought. Darrin Gantt of The Herald is reporting that Delhomme could need surgery.

When initially discussing the injury, coach John Fox said the injury "won't require surgery, it's a rehab situation."

However, one source with knowledge of the situation said the possibility of surgery down the line may be more real than the team's stance might indicate, and that there are concerns coming back too quickly could put Delhomme at risk of a greater injury.

It's not clear whether Delhomme might be able to play through the injury and put off surgery until the off-season, but it is beginning to sound as though David Carr is going to be the Panthers' quarterback for longer than was first realized.

    Default Jake out for season

Just saw on NFL Network that Jake will have surgery on his elbow. They will place him on IR and he will be out for the rest of the season.

    Sorry to hear that.

    Carr sux!

Here is hoping Jake comes back next year.

  9. Default Re: Jake out for season

I saw Jake getting warmed up last night (when Carr went down at the end of a series) and evidently it did not feel good. Carr was able to come back in on the next series.

To be honest if surgery is what Jake needs I am glad to see him get it now instead of waiting... waiting.... and still needing it later.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) - Jake Delhomme last week called surgery on his strained right elbow "a last resort."

After experiencing pain trying to throw on Monday, the Carolina Panthers quarterback decided the worst-case scenario couldn't be avoided.

Delhomme will have season-ending ligament-replacement surgery on his elbow next week, leaving the Panthers without their leader on offense and scrambling to find another quarterback.

"Anytime you lose your starting quarterback it's a blow," coach John Fox said.

Originally injured two weeks ago, Delhomme didn't show any improvement when trying to throw Monday. A day earlier he threw briefly on the side while sitting out Carolina's win over the Saints.

"I think (Sunday) he was just trying to see how it felt," Fox said. "Today he really pushed it and experienced some of the same discomfort he had during the Atlanta game."
