You are absolutely correct we don't care about those guys. Addai in my opinion will not be a good NFL player. He reminds me of that running back from Indiana Dane something our another who played for the Giants. Power runner, that kind of forges straight ahead. I prefer a runner like Foster moving and twisting, or Dunn, in other words backs with a lot of different abilites.

Ali Broussard I think, if you need an LSU A&M BR player, will do it when he heals, at least I hope he heals. He is a power runner with athletic ability.

  2. UL Football Delhomme vs Manning

When it comes to making it in the NFL I love to bring up how playing 3 years or more at UL leads to better results than coming off the bench your junior or senior year at a BCS school. But this isn't one of those rants . . . because . . .

One played 4 years at a BCS school, the other played 4 years for the University of Louisiana.

One joined the NFL in 1997 as a walkon free agent, the other joined in 1998 as the #1 overall pick.

One got the starting job right out of college, the other would have to wait 5 years to start.

One has a playoff record of 5-1 the other is 3-6

One has only scored 2 touchdown passes and 7 interceptions in his last 4 playoff losses. The other has a playoff record of 5-1, with 10 TD passes and 2 interceptions.

One has been to a Super Bowl and is going to a NFC Championship game. The other has watched more NFC title games on TV.

I will say this. If Jake had 'not' played 4 years at UL he would be doing none of the above.

    WTG Jake!
And make no mistake he was the man at UL. I am so fortunate to have seen him in practice even before his first game. I must admit I believed he would be a good starter, but never thought he would be so good when things count the most for an NFL game. .

Just my 2 cents but I think Jake has always been that guy, and I think we were extremly fortunate that Tulane did not offer him but instead offered him a walk on. He would have been good no matter where he played.

IF he played is my angle. He might have lost that edge sitting for 3 years in college.

Then again, sitting for 5 in the preux's didn't hurt.

Not to mention the fact that they wanted him to play defense...

At the start of the game yesterday, he was mentioned as the second highest rated QB in playoff history behind Jeff Hostetler. After yesterday's performance, there is no doubt he has jumped over Hostetler in QB rating. Jake was at about 102.1 QB rating while Hostetler was at about 102.5.

Not to mention that LSU didn't think he was good enough to offer him a scholarship to play there. Not to mention the Saints must not have thought he was good enough to start. But as the Saints would have it they usually trade away the better players. So glad that he has proved them all wrong and he is doing well.

My theory on why you have more UL players than LSU in the playoffs right now,and why Jake has been more successful than his BCS big brother Peyton, is this:

At a school like UL, if you are even remotely good, u get playing time which equals development which equals better chances in the NFL. Not only that, but I believe small school players appreciate what they get even more than the big school guys that take their NFL careers for granted.

Also, I believe that at small schools more attention is given to individual players as opposed to the team. Example: This past baseball season, UL was in the Tulane regional, and one of our pitchers was kinda injured. Rather than injure the player (can't remember which one he was) Robichaux decided to save his health and well being instead of injure him just to advance the team.

    Just my 1.5 cents

    God Bless

p.s.- I realize my last example was from baseball instead of football, but you get the idea
