Might be good for Jake to sit one out. Carolina fans will see that Jake's not the only problem with their team. Chris Wenke, will prove it's not easy to be an NFL QB.

Also might be good for Jake to watch the game from the sidelines. He seems to have lost his composure a little lately and maybe observing from the side will give him a better perspective of what's going on.

I don't think Jake has reached his peak but I DO believe he is out of "synch" and "rythem" right now.

I like benching Delhomme. Chris Wienke gives the Saints a much better chance of clinching the South Division much faster. They need to bench Steve Smith and Deangelo Williams too. but then again, having those guys in the lineup hasn't helped much lately anyway.

Good performance by Jake today. The Saints are in the playoffs, Jake played a good game and it didn't affect me one way or the other, and the Falcons lost to a bunch of backups. With this running head start, 2007 is going to be SWEET!

All I have to say is that we (the Saints) LET Jake win. We could have easily won this game if we wanted, but Coach Payton did the right thing by keeping our starters rested and healthy. Saw some good backup action. I especially liked Jamal Branch.

Foolish thing to say, Sid. Jake has owned the Superdome as a Cajun and as a Panther. There are absolutely NO guarantees that "the worlds worst pro franchise ever" would have beaten Jake and the Panthers yesterday. 7-7 Saints starters vs Carolina starters. That being said, I hope the Saints go as far as their innards will take em! Then we'll see Mr Benson attampt to rape the state one more time. Forgot about that dint'cha?

You have got to wonder if Coach Peyton is doing the right thing not letting the starters play long. If he keeps this up and they come out flat in their first playoff game everyone will point to them not playing. If he lets them play and they get hurt everyone will say why did have him in there. The Colts have come out flat in their last few playoff runs and many fans have grumbled that this is the reason. Personally I think it is the right move but perhaps the starters could play a half?

So when asked if his Carolina Panthers couldn't make the playoffs, if he's happy that New Orleans did, the former Louisiana-Lafayette standout quarterback spoke the only way he knows how - from his heart. "I'm happy the Superdome is back open, but I wanted to be NFC South champs,'' Delhomme said. "I'm not going to lie. I didn't want the Saints to be. But they played better than us over 16 games. They deserved it. "(After the game) I just told Drew (Brees) to go play it. You never know what's going to happen.'' I sure hope they give him another chance next year. I know he had an off year, but he is still a very good starting quarterback with a lot to offer. I know this doesn't mean that he or anybody else should be a starting quarterback in and of itself, but he is a class act and the NFL needs players like Jake. Not to mention the fact that he is a RAGIN CAJUN

Payton pretty much summed it up in the early press conference during the week. There is no right answer, and the only time you don't get blamed is if you win your playoff game. Had the Saints played everyone and loss, ouch, even if nobody gets hurt. This way the loss is glossed over by the fans, and guys like Sid who think that games are not won on the field but in the imagination of fans.

This is a fact, Jake beat the Saints twice this season for whatever reason, and and has beaten them like a drum over his life as a panther. Nothing says it like a score.
