  Jake Delhomme's Cleveland Browns debut was a smashing success, just like what the Green Bay Packers have come to expect from Aaron Rodgers.

Delhomme, a former University of Louisiana star, led the Browns to a touchdown in his only drive and Rodgers threw one of his own in Cleveland's 27-24 win on Saturday night in the exhibition opener decided on Phil Dawson's field goal as time expired.

I kind of hate to bring this up, but was curious to see how Jake Delhomme did last week. Evidently, he had another really tough day. The Cleveland fans are really coming down hard on him. I feel really bad for our hometown hero. It's painful to see his career wind down this way -- even though the $7 mil he's earning must ease the sting just a little bit.

Its really rough watching the end of his career play out this way, he was so good pre-tommy john surgery. As a Panthers fan, and a Jake fan, I really just want to see him wrap up his career and sign a 1 day contract and retire as a Panther so that there will be more good memories of him as a player than bad ones.

I know he had a great year after TJ surgery, I should say up until that playoff game, he had a great year.

That said, I still think he came back to soon.

The only problem is, no one is going to remember that... only all the picks the last two seasons. It seems he turns it over at the worst times, and has a lot returned for TDs.

Yeah someone from out of town asked me our football alumni.

They were more impressed with Charles Tillman, Brandon Stokely and Ike Taylor.

When I told him about Jake Delhomme. His response, "Sorry, about that."

I'm not Jake (duh) but I think he should stay in the NFL as long as he is having fun.

IF he decides to stay I think he is worth more than th NFL minimum he won't get his 5.4 million as a Colt McCoy backup, but even the NFL minimum is more than most people can make anywhere else the rest of their life.
