What's the deal with the size and height ect . There have been many great players smaller than Tyrell. How big is the guy from lsu from carencro? that's been with the pats for like ten years.. tyrell needs at the very LEAST a chance to prove he can play in the NFL...My gut feeling is that he will get his chance, but it might take playing in a lower league to prove himself 'once again' ....jeez.............

I wish the NFLE was still around. How many players will never get their chance because that is gone? They don't even have the AFL (Arena League) anymore to develop talent.

The lack of semi-pro football really hurts guys these days. NFLE was a great chance for players to shine.

I was so pumped for Tyrell, but it does in fact look like he's just in a bad spot.

the biggest problem I think for Tyrell is that I believe they see someone who can't help them on special teams and as a 3rd or 4th RB he has to be able to do special teams.

Kevin Faulk is similar in size to Tyrell but he was able to contribute on special teams.

Agreed, the NFLE was a great place for players to get a chance to showcase their ability. There was talk of another pro league starting here in the states but I haven't heard anythign lately. About the only other option would be the CFL. He probably wouldn't get many chances to show his ability to run from scrimmage a sthe CFL is primarily a pasing league with only three downs instead of four but he could showcase his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield along with his speed and moves in the open field.

I hope he gets that second chance.

The problem for Fenroy was in the offense here, he typically hit the hole off guard or tackle and ran straight ahead. If he had to kick it out, then he would but he ran between the tackles most of the time. My feeling is that the scouts saw this and said there is no way this guy could do that in the NFL. They like bigger backs who can move the chains to compliment their change of pace backs. I don't think Fenroy is quick enough or enough of a receiver to be the change of pace guy and he certainly is not big enough to be the between the tackles guy. I just think that Fenroy is in between what he needs to be in the NFL. He does have good vision though, and if he does get a shot, he could produce but he is behind the 8 ball a bit.

If Fenroy were extroverted like Ike Taylor it would go a long way towards Tyrell selling himself.

Otherwise he can only sell his wares with lots of reps and that is something kind of hard to come by in his current situation.

I think you are right. For a smaller back, Tyrell hasn't shown that super quick change of direction shifty-ness, stop on a dime and reaccelerate, that a small back has to have. He is close at times, and he offers high marks in many other RB categories, but that is what the NFL does not see and has to in order to consider him at RB. The other problem, as mentioned by another, is that he is not viewed as a big special teams contributor to occupy a spot as a backup RB. It is an uphill struggle for Tyrell. I think there's an NFL team or two that needs him, IMO, but hasn't made that connection.

I'm not sure of the extroversion "sell tactic" in the NFL, but Tyrell's quiet demeanor does carry over a little into his running style. His style of running straight to the hole and then foot racing the secondary didn't make a lot of highlight footage for his NFL considerations. He very likely needed some extroverted dancing, dodging, spinning, and grinning to get more attention. But, he's not really that kind of person, nor that kind of RB.

I agree everyone loves the team who signs your guy then hates them if they cut him. Remember it's business not personnal and it's also about the right fit in the case of a lot of undrafted free agents. Luke Lawton who played at St Thomas More then McNeese has bounced around I don't know how many times in the NFL. Last account of him was in Oakland the point being just give Fenroy time. Sometimes it takes 2, 3, even 4 shots before they stick someplace. Then again sometimes guys just aren't as good as we think they are and can't make it in the NFL. Remember most of these guys were stud 1, 2, or 3 on their college team but that don't mean jack in the NFL everybody is fast and/or quick.

So true I never heard any NFL scout say Fenroy was a prized FA. Free agents aren't generally prized if they were they would have been drafted instead. I heard Steve Young say during the draft that running backs are a dime a dozen whether they are drafted or signed via the free agent route. Not long ago Charlie Casserly past GM of the Redskins and Texans said that the top five positions on an NFL team is QB, Left Tackle, a pass rushing DE or LB, a shut down CB, and then a running back. So Fenroy may have a hard time latching on cause there are a lot of RB's out there.
