This news is really surprising. He must have showed very little to get cut this early. I am wondering if not playing in a pro style offense may have hurt him. I can probably count on 2 hands the number of times Fenroy ran out of the I-formation.
you know you make a good point. I never really thought of it but the guy was running out of the shotgun every play. but then again that is the case with a large number of runningbacks coming out of college. not to mention fenroy played highschool football so it's not like the guy doesnt know how to be a runningback. I think they just didnt need him but they took him anyway. I hope he lands on a team with no runningbacks even if its someone like lions
I think it might be more that they have a lot of RB's already on their roster and they might see him as someone that wouldn't be able to help them on special teams. His RB ability is not what is going to keep him on a roster right now...he has to be able to compete on special teams to latch on with a team. Once he latches on that is when he can start to make an impression at RB but until then he might not get the opportunity. I think he can do and I hope he does but this might be what is holding him back right now.
Fenroy was No. 48 for the Bears.
