Well, you have to ask a question here? How much did the university do to help him get there? Did the university really make an effort to honor him after he one the first Super Bowl? Is there even a picture of Ike anywhere around the complex? Other than Brian Mitchell, is there any other player that helped a team win the big one? The same for Tillman? Was not he the highest drafted player from UL? Yes, I know that there are posters on the home side of the stadium, but that may be seen only five times a year? Maybe these guys have a chip on their shoulder toward UL's PR Dept.? We have to do better!
Are you kidding?! It's not UL's responsibility to promote these people. Does the University go out and promote nurses, accountants, or engineers? Individual players are responsible for their own lively hood, just like other job seekers. And even if we were to blame for not promoting these guys, don't you think that UL would be justified in not sticking out its neck for some like Ike Taylor? The guy is not exactly James Earl Jones...
You're kidding, right? Ike Taylor is the only one of 44 Super Bowl starters who don't mention a school in his intros. This is a UL PR screwup? Really? I think it is simply ingratitude from an immature punk who, frankly, is not that good of an NFL cover guy anyway. Without UL nobody knows who he is and nobody cares. Very disrespectful, plain and simple.
I hope next Super Bowl he is torched again by jake Delhomme.

Hate to say it but Jake's Super Bowl days are probably over. He makes to many mental mistakes these days to take a team to the Super Bowl.
As far Ike, I'd be surprised if he isn't replaced in the starting line-up next year for the Steelers, he was left behind, wasn't very aggressive and his stunt that drew the penalty showed his lack of self control that very well could have cost the Steelers the game.
