What? I don't "have to ask a question here?" Do you have any idea how many posters of great alumni we would have to put up? What a joke. "Ike ain't gettin his props from UL and all of us little folk who feed off of his NFL career?" Poor freaking Ike. I'll give you a word of advice. No matter where you go and how well you do... be humble... or don't... and get what you get. Ike has decided that we are not worthy of being "his" fan. That is the definition of "Swaggin".
UL has produced far finer people than "Ike Taylor". If he doesn't choose to think about the rest of us and who and what we do well... I, for one, don't give one piece of crap about Ike Taylor. And I also don't give a crap about people who defend him.
Good luck Ike. I hope you do well. Sorry you don't see fit to stick with us. "Those who did nothing for you". I must have missed that part of the paperwork when I enrolled... "do something for Ike Taylor while he's here." What a joke.
Maybe he should change form "Swaggin" to "Smolderin" after Fitzgerald burned and abused him.
The university allowed him to play at their school and gain the foundation he needed in the NFL. Last time I checked he was a football player not a golf professional. Football is a TEAM sport...no one does it alone...each player dependent upon the success of the other. I am sure he could care less what anyone on these boards thinks...after all he is soooo above us all. What goes around comes around and his less then stellar performance in the Super Bowl proves it. Exactly why does he need to be "honored". It's called humility and pride in ones own accomplishments. He is a complete embarrassment to this university.
Humility is in short supply these days. Ike is an average NFL player with an above average ego. I predict he will crash and burn soon enough. Heck even Steeler fans don't care for his attitude. He is someone we shouldn't honor. He can say he is from the university of Mars as far as I care.
I'm proud of Ike Taylor. I honestly don't remember him playing at UL even though I was there for all the Baldwin games. He owes no one to call the school name. How anyone can clown his ability is crazy. No team in the playoffs held Fitzgerald below 100. Ike had him covered so well Kurt Warner did not even throw in Fitzgerald’s direction until after the two-minute warning in the first half and it was incomplete. Fitzgerald didn't catch his first pass till there was under a minute left in the half. And he didn’t catch another until the fourth quarter when he bust loose. Going into the Super Bowl every analyst said you can't stop Fitzgerald you can only hope to contain him so you see Ike Taylor did his job, UL fans can walk with swagger.
Correction: the Steelers covered Fitzgerald well. The team did. That's why Breaston went off early; he was open because 2 or more were needed to cover Fitzgerald. The first time Ike went one on one with Fitzgerald was a 64 yard touchdown.
