swagging: the cocky behavior of someone who is riding high with self-confidence

Either way, he apparently has no pride in the university which gave him his shot.

If you go in the UL locker room, all the ex-UL players in the NFL's jerseys are up there with one exception. Or at least I could never find it.

Simeon Rice, who went to Illinois, listed his university as "the school of hard knocks" on national TV. Needless to say, this upset many Illini fans who claimed he was turning his back on the the institution that launched his pro career. Turns out that he was just having some fun and never intended it to be a slight to the university.

Who knows if that's the case with Ike? Maybe he doesn't know that some people are taking offense to this. Or maybe he does. Impossible to tell, but perhaps it's prudent to not rush to judgment on the issue. Right or wrong, at least that's something to consider.

    *shrug*

Don't read in to it too much. One of the Cleveland O-lineman said he was from Highway 59.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that he was a Jerry Baldwin recruit which would lead me to believe that he was a risk and we gave him a shot to play college ball. Does anyone know if he could have played anywhere else? If not, he needs to show some respect to the program that made him a millionaire.

Ike was a JB walkon and in many ways considers himself an autodidact.

Baldin wanted Ike to be a running back but he wasn't close to being the best running back on the team.

It wasn't till Bustle got here and the coaches recognized his talent was at the DB position.

Ike came very close to becoming a talent graveyard casualty.

Because he had NO offers and walked on at UL, survived Baldwin, and made it to the NFL while never being on a team that won more than 3 games . . . Ike Taylor considers himself a self made man. Just because Bustle made the right call Ike knew his potential all along.

That is why he is 'Swaggin'

I don't think he has forgotten UL or what Bustle and Eric's dad did for him, it's just that his memory of knowing 'he could' if given the chance, is greater than any other memory. That is why he is 'Swaggin'

Ilm just glad he comes back to help coach Vermilion & White games. That alone tells me he hasn't forgotten UL

You're right. If he didn't care, he wouldn't waste his time. Unless someone on here knows him personally, we shouldn't judge him.

There was a Monday night game two years ago where he said his high school. To my knowledge, I don't think he's ever said "UL".
