(Drugs).....Now the question, how would Coach Rob handle this?????.......my answer, "see you next year if you can get your act straight".

Glenn failed a drug test administered by LSU, not the NCAA.

I went and looked it up. Gabriel had 2 friends at his apartment in Seattle who where the marijuana was in possession. Charges against Gabriel were later dropped. Gabriel served his suspension and was one of the few players to return after this type of suspension. I remember taking a freshman math class with him and he never hid from his past. He worked his way back and always spoke highly of the coaches and players.

That's what I thought. Was thinking he might have heard something that I didn't or he was confusing the stories from the newspaper.

Actually, there was a very nice article in USA Today at the time about the whole process. Thanks for the reference, as I guess my remembrance of the situation was faulty.

    Default Mainieri ditches Cody Glenn

Can he sit in the Cajuns bull pen and learn from the best pitching coach and turn his game around? Mainieri says, "I don't have enough confidence in him as a pitcher to use him in the post season. I would not be surprised if he plans to transfer. It may be in his best interest." Well with that statement what the hell do you expect him to do, ride the pine......Can he fit in the Robichaux scheme?

he would still need to be given an official "release". i doubt that will ever happen!!!! especially if UL is in the conversation. better lay low, and see what happens.

Mainieri has said some pretty dik things to the media about him before while maintaining his "aww-shucks....gollee-ge" persona. I think I've he3ard "He's just really not that good of a pitcher" earlier in the year. Who the hell blames him for wanting to leave?

It's been a long time since I heard a coach throw a player under the bus the way Mainieri did Glen. Even if the kid was being a tool, Mainieri is the adult and face of the program.

Glad the kid has an out that includes his family and still play ball.

Typical for PM..He likes publicly humiliating players.
