If LSU does not host, they'd be right outside the numbers to host. I think they'd get sent as a 2 seed to one of the 13th thru 16th teams landing a regional host spot.
Kendall's the most knowledgeable of any I've seen projecting the field. Most are wild guesses with no analysis of the selection committee's history. (I guess I'm spoiled to Brian.)
But Kendall seems to understand the factors the committee will actually take into consideration.
He has consistently trumpeted Louisiana as a lock (almost) for a National Seed if we take care of business.
We could find that, like the ladies, it actually wasn't even close.
But I'll continue to doubt until selection Monday.
Of course, everything is done as if the tournament started today.
We could still have as many as 7-8 games left
Let's say we sweep ULM, and finish regular season 49-7. If we then go through the Sun Belt Tourny and make it to the Championship, that would give us at least another 3 or 4 wins correct? Would the committee refer to our 53-7 record or our 49-7 record when looking at our criteria for selection?
Point being, if God willing, we sweep the rest of our games, we end up 53-7, they would be complete a-holes to deny us a national seed. I don't care who yarrr.
Conference tournament counts all the same. You dont have a pre-conf tournament RPI and record
Ok, so that's exactly what I was thinking. All season we were talking about how awesome it would be to get to 50 wins in the regular season and how eye popping that would be. Well look at this way, we still have a very good chance to get to 50 wins before selection time. I think that would be a huge HUGE advantage to our resume.
There's a chance we are the only team with 50 wins at selection time
