 Erica Elizabeth Gidman and Justin Lee Venable were married on Friday, October 10, 2008 at Rip Van Winkle Gardens in Jefferson Island. Pastor Mike Walker officiated the 6:00 pm ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Barry and Kathleen Gidman of Lafayette. She is the granddaughter of Donald and Judy Gelpi, and Rita Gidman. She is a graduate of Comeaux High School and the University of Louisiana, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics. She is currently employed as a Healthcare Specialist by Conco Foodservice.

The groom is the son of Lee and Gwen Venable. He is the grandson of Floyd and Buella Richard and Lena Bergeron. He is a graduate of Acadiana High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Justin is a former Ragin Cajun football player. He is currently employed by Cox Business in Lafayette.
