Microsoft today announced plans to sell the Xbox One without Kinect.

It will be sold for $399 from June 9 in all markets where the console is currently available.

The company described the Kinect-free Xbox One as "a new option," which suggests the original version with the bundled sensor will continue to be sold around the world. "Since the beginning, we have focused on delivering great games and entertainment experiences for you," Phil Spencer, the new Head of Xbox said in a blog post. Microsoft today announced a new Xbox One SKU that will start at $399.

The only difference is that you won’t get Kinect sensor with it.

This SKU will be made available in all markets where Xbox One is currently on sale.

First, beginning on June 9th, in all markets where Xbox One is sold, we will offer Xbox One starting at $399*. This is a new console option that does not include Kinect.

Finally, you will continue to be able to use many of the unique features of Xbox One including the ability to get game invites while you watch TV, switch between games and entertainment apps
