This may have been mentioned already. But what I say in the 4th inning just blue my mind. I think it was one out. Victoria was giving it all she had at that point. I could see it in her face. ULM was laying down bunts to take advantage of Victoria's. One of those bunts is when Samatha came from third all the way to the first line and from her knees she threw over the runner and put her out. In my mind Samatha said, "I got your back Vicky, they want try that again". And I think they didn't..........

Saw that too. It was a hell of a play and an even better throw across her body in stride and right on target.

She made 3 super plays. The snag and throw from her knees, and two charges on bunts where she made two super athletic and intelligent throws to first. She's clutch.

I had my daughter watching closely how Walsh defended the bunt ... as she plays 3rd base when she is not playing Shortstop.

She's a great player to emulate. Barbara Jordan pointed out that very few players could charge those bunts and have the ability to make the throws Walsh made up the line. She made those look routine.

It's easy to focus on how many runs we put up. But, those kind of defensive plays are huge in the post season. They can easily be the difference makers against regional level opponents.

Samantha Walsh is another UL player shafted by the coaches in the All-SB-C selections. She would be the cornerstone of almost every other team in the SB-C.
