Thread: B.I. Moody College of Business Administrations Among the Best

  1. Research B.I. Moody College of Business Administrations Among the Best

The B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration at the University of Louisiana is among the best, according to The Princeton Review. The New York-based education services company is featuring the college in the just-publishes 2009 edition of its “Best 296 Business Schools.”

“We select schools for this book based on our high regard for their academic programs and offerings, institutional data we collect from the schools, and the candid opinions of students attending them who rate and report on their campus experiences at the school,” said Robert Franek, Princeton Review’s Vice President for Publishing. “We are pleased to recommend the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration to readers of our book and users of our website as one of the best institutions they could attend to earn an MBA.”

“Best 296 Business Schools” has two-page profiles of the schools with write-ups on their academics, student life and admissions, plus ratings for their academics, selectivity and career placement services. In the profile on the B.I. Moody III College of Business Administration, the Princeton Review editors describe the school as having well-experienced faculty. They quote from students attending who say professors have a lot of experience in their fields and “can relate to what we need better than those who just teach us with no experience to back it up.”

Editors also note the college offers an MBA with a concentration in health care administration, “an appealing option to the area’s many health care professionals.”

In a “Survey Says...” sidebar in the profile, The Princeton Review lists topics that UL business students it surveyed for the book were in most agreement about. The list includes: “cutting edge classes” and “solid preparation in general management and computer skills.”

The Princeton Review’s 80-question survey asked students about themselves, their career plans, and their schools’ academics, student body and campus life.

Editors don’t rank the schools in the book on a single hierarchical list from 1 to 296, or name one business school best overall.

The college of business has always been in this category. I find this very neat being that i am a marketing major. I do notice that our classes at UL are much harder elsewhere i have friends from LSU and some LSUE that transferred to UL they say the accounting classes are so challenging and harder compared to the other school they went too. I also have a cousin also a marketing major who attends Shreiner University in Kerrville Texas. Now this is a private school and she was looking at my work (general ledgers) and working papers(journals) for my accounting classes and she was just lost looking at them. I feel like i have learned so much especially in the few marketing classes that i have taken, which i think will prepare me for my internship with the Texas Rangers in the summer!

ul business school has always been on the cutting edge, when I was there 85-89 we had one of the first service marketing classes in the nation. The professor had to basically create his own book for the class since there was no US text on service marketing (I kept that book and referred to it until I lost it during hurricane Katrina)
