I wonder where he will end up? _
Did you notice that the AD who dropped the hammer was former Cajun AD Terry Don Phillips? Maybe Clemson alum Ricky Bustle will find a place for him in Lafayette. More likely would be that his pop will bring him back to Florida State.

The story I heard early this afternoon was that Bowden was told that if Clemson were eliminated from ACC title contention, he'd be relieved of duty. Bowden reportedly replied that if that were the case, he might as well go now. The report said he negotiated terms with AD Terry Don Phillips to leave.

Hey, Bustle is a Clemson alum. If UL goes to a bowl game and wins, would Clemson come calling? Sounds far fetched, given Bustle's record over the past 6 years. But, given what he inherited and how difficult a job it was considered to turn UL around, who knows? Certainly, this is not likely, but since he is a Clemson alum, just thought I would throw that out to spur further discussion. Going from firing Bustle after the USM win to a Clemson job if he goes to a bowl is a stretch and indicative of how strange this year started out and is now turning into. It is fun again for UL football to have serious relevance mid year. Can't wait for Saturday's game.

My guess is that their ideal candidate would be someone younger than Bustle.

I am willing to bet that will not happen. Clemson acts like they are an SEC school and their fans would not except that hire. I expect Clemson to make a big name hire and spend a lot of money in doing it.

    Muschamp?
    Kiffin?

Only if they move soon, otherwise I'd say Muschamp. Also, Kiffin doesn't have any obvious connections to the southeast, much less the Clemson area, so that makes him seem like a less viable choice to me.

While he doesn't have major ties to the area, USC did recruit in the SE so I don't think it would be that hard to adjust. Kiffin will be a great college coach one day, it is a shame what happened with the Raiders. Another possible place that Kiffin might fit would be Syracuse if they fire their coach which more than likely will happen. The AD at Syracuse is a former AD or associate AD from USC.
