Given that the Cajuns are in strong contention for a national seed, a better record vs. RPI Top 25 will be more important since this would be their peer group. But they will also be looking closely at the RPI Top 50 ... which is unchanged in this scenario ... but the selection committee will specifically see the record vs. 26-50.
I think the Cajuns are looking good for a national seed. As long as they do not tank the SBC Tournament (and the new format really helps), I expect the Cajuns to finish Top 8 in RPI and have a chance at holding onto #6. Hopefully the Cajuns get to play ... and beat ... South Alabama twice.
