Hughes Springs’ Moore to play baseball at Louisiana

On Thursday, Dylan Moore took to the mound and tossed a no-hitter to help the No. 10 ranked Hughes Springs Mustangs move on in the Class 2A baseball playoffs.

A little more than 12 hours later, Moore locked up his college future by signing a national letter-of-intent with Louisiana.

Moore struck out 11 in a 10-0 win over Mount Pleasant Chapel Hill on Thursday to send the Mustangs to the area round of the playoffs. The hard-throwing right hander is now 12-0 on the year with a 0.71 earned run average and 113 strikeouts in 68.1 innings pitched.
His three-year varsity totals — including a 43-2 record — are downright gaudy.
Moore went 17-0 as a junior with a 1.37 ERA and 126 strikeouts — leading the Mustangs to the Class 2A state finals — and was 14-2 as a sophomore with a 1.40 ERA
