LOUISIANA La. — Somebody must have told Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajuns that they were a good hitting baseball team.

After the last two weeks, others are starting to agree.

The Cajuns made it eight straight double-digit hit games Tuesday night, and many of those were of the long-ball variety in a 12-5 victory over Lamar University at Moore Field.

“We’re doing a better job swinging all the way through the lineup,” said Cajun head coach Tony Robichaux. “They’re really starting to pick up on what (assistant coach) John (Szefc) is teaching them.”

They’ve learned those lessons well in a streak that now includes eight wins in 12 games heading into a key Sun Belt Conference home series with league-leading Florida International this weekend.
