A sex offender who failed to report his new address to the state registry was arrested Tuesday after first contacting police about a theft at his new address.

Police said they went to 1426 Amazon after Peter Miller, 50, reported he had just moved there and that someone had stolen tools from his residence.

The investigating officer then left the scene and verified that Miller was a registered sex offender and allegedly had not reported his new address, as required by state law.
