I don't recall many people here thinking Nixon would be at QB going into 3rd year. If the kid wants to play qb, let him try to play qb

I didn't think he would take a snap, pretty much everyone were convinced he would move to RB or LB is my point. I just never understood why coaches don't let kids play where they want. It usually works itself out anyway. Side note, the couple passes I just saw him throw on the news, he deserves a shot at QB and I'm glad it's here
Having snatched him from 5 AQ-BCS schools... I'll take him!!
Before anyone puts the Mitchell tag on anyone we gotta remember one thing about No. 1. He was a man of steel, the strongest man on the squad and almost indestructible. I am super glad to get this young man if he follows though, but to tag anyone another Mitchell is a leap. They may throw as well or better, run as well or better, but durability is another thing.
No two people are alike. Fantasizing about how someone might be the second coming of another... is just a means of creating hype. There are other middle-aged men that have put on a thong and strutted around major public events in hopes of simulating my gaudy achievements. People need heroes, Express.
Before I say this, Brian Mitchell was the best football player to ever wear Vermilion and White.
If this kid is going to play QB, I hope to God he is a much better passer than Brian was. In today's college football, and in Hud/Johnson's offense, he will have to be if he will ever see significant time behind center.
As great as Mitchell was, he was very below average as a passer.
Saying Dion Ray is the next Brian Mitchell might be a bit unfair to him. He runs a true spread offense out of the gun and is a much better passer now than Brian Mitchell was as this stagg. I wouldn't call McGuire the next Fenroy and I wouldn't call Ray another Mitchell. While they are similar in running styles, Ray is more of a QB than Brian Mitchell was at this stage. If the Cajuns can hold on to him, he is the QB of the future in my book.
Good to hear T. Thanks.
