how you wanna kill yourself slowly is your own choice...but like Monkee and others have said, i would prefer to not walk down a narrow side walk behind someone smoking and have no choice but to inhale the toxic fumes of your personal choice. go smoke in a corner off campus. that is all
We all have habits that affect each other. Do you eat fatty or food period? Those can make you obese thus higher insurance. Do you ride a death trap known as a motorcycle? Do you drink alcohol? That can affect everyone with medical costs and DUI's. Do you drive a car? Those things spew cancerous smoke we all breath. Do you eat beef? Cattle raising produce all kinds of harm to the environment. I could go on and on but will not. If you are a smoker, don't be an _____ and subject others to your habit. In short, enjoy your brief time here on Earth. Don't subject others to your habits. That's about it.
Rc90, was that directed to me?
For the record, I don't smoke, never have, and never will.
But that's the point. It started off with designated smoking areas. Ok, sounded reasonable. But that wasn't good enough. Then it went to smoke free buildings with designated smoking outdoors. Now it's no smoking anywhere. Go off campus you say? The smoker will go off campus and you'll be there _____ing about it. Hell, no the zealots have invented the concept of "third hand smoke" claiming that residual particles on clothing will kill them.
yes there is 3rd hand smoke. these things arent just "invented". studies have shown that there are increased incidences of children developing lung disorders from parents smoking (even when not smoking in their home) common factor being the clothes they wear comes in contact with the children.
god forbid non-smokers are health conscience...
Not really. Just about everything you do on this Earth will kill you and someone else can be harmed. Cars spew toxins into the air you breath. You can drive it to ridiculous levels. I believe you should try to live a healthy life and your habit shouldn't be forced upon others but in the end YOU WILL DIE!
and ive also taken care of patients and watched them die because they were told smoking wasnt bad for you back then...makes sense right? (and they would never admit that smoking was the cause...even up until their last breath)
i encourage you to watch someone die who smoked all their life...its a dreadful way to watch someone die.
good luck with your logic though, hope it works out for you.
