University of Louisiana prepares smoke- and tobacco-free policy

I don't smoke, but isn't it wonderful to have smoking free campus and have many of the same people pushing to legalize blunt and smoke in public! Genius!

I like the idea of a smoke-free campus, but I don't necessarily endorse the legalization of marijuana.

And I've never seen anybody talking about legalizing marijuana smoking in public.

I'm of the opinion that smoking in public, whether it's a cigarette or a stogie or marijuana or a Serb, is equally obnoxious.

What's wrong with stepping a few feet to burn one down outside?

It's not about the inconvenience of stepping a few more feet to smoke; it's about the government telling establishments that they HAVE to adopt a certain smoking policy.

It's pure market demand. If the demand is great enough for bars with no smoking policies, these bars will adapt or be run out of business.

pollutes their own body and the ones in close proximity of a smoker...
i have no sympathy for smokers...
no one forced anyone to start smoking...its a choice smokers took upon themselves.

I was always a considerate smoker. Never smoked indoors even when there were smoking sections. I never smoked in a car with a non smoker. Now it is getting to the point of stupidity. If you want to smoke that's your business. Just don't subject others to the smoke. We are all going to die one way or another. You can be in perfect health and just die of a thousands of reasons. When they find a cure for death please let me know! = - )

We were told by the tour guide in Amsterdam.......you can smoke a joint outside but not a cigarette or cigar!!!

I'm against public smoking, but there has to be a better or designated places on campus to be able to smoke. As long as I don't have to walk through a cloud of cancer, let em smoke.
