Hulu preps a free ad-supported service for mobile, as Hulu Plus passes 6 million users

As digital TV platform Hulu announces that its subscription-based TV service Hulu Plus has now passed the 6-million subscriber mark, it seems the current free Web-based offering will be arriving on mobile devices soon too. The US company says that it will begin offering ad-supported TV shows on smartphones to free users this summer, followed by a “next generation of the Hulu Plus iPhone app.” Founded in 2007, Hulu is an online TV service that helps users discover premium content from around the world, and its ownership is shared between Hulu, NBCUniversal, Fox and Disney, with support from Providence Equity...
